Kelowna and West Kelowna offer some of the most scenic viewpoints in British Columbia. From lakefront vistas to mountain-top lookouts, there are many places to enjoy sunsets, photography, and panoramic Okanagan views.

This guide highlights the best viewpoints and lookouts across Kelowna, West Kelowna, and nearby areas in 2025.

1. Knox Mountain — Apex Lookout (Kelowna)

Knox Mountain is Kelowna’s most famous viewpoint and is close to downtown.

What you’ll see:

  • sweeping views of Okanagan Lake

  • Downtown Kelowna skyline

  • mountains surrounding the valley

Access options:

  • hike via Apex Trail

  • seasonal vehicle access to first lookout (city regulated)


2. Mount Boucherie Summit Area (West Kelowna)

Mount Boucherie is an extinct volcano offering some of the best panoramic views in the Okanagan.

Trails are steep in sections; wear proper footwear.


3. Bennett Bridge and Waterfront Area Lookouts

Near the William R. Bennett Bridge and Kelowna waterfront, you will find several lakeside viewpoints ideal for evening walks and photos.

4. Myra Canyon Trestles Viewpoints

Myra Canyon offers elevated views over deep canyons and trestle bridges along the historic Kettle Valley Railway.

5. Kalamoir Regional Park Viewpoints (West Kelowna)

6. Pincushion Mountain (Peachland – nearby)

A short drive from West Kelowna, Pincushion Mountain offers a well-known viewpoint above Peachland.

7. Scenic Road Pullouts and Lakeside Stops

Throughout West Kelowna and Lake Country, there are several designated pullouts and roadside viewpoints offering direct lake vistas. Only stop in signed, safe pullout areas and obey all traffic laws.


Photography and Safety Tips at Lookouts

  • stay on marked trails and behind railings

  • respect cliff edges and unstable ground

  • carry water, especially in summer

  • winter months may have ice or snow on trails

  • respect private property and posted signage


Getting to Viewpoints Without a Car
