Lake Country is located just north of Kelowna and is known for orchards, vineyards, turquoise lakes, and relaxed small-town charm. It is made up of the Winfield, Oyama, Carr’s Landing, and Okanagan Centre areas.


This guide highlights the best things to do in Lake Country in 2025, including wineries, outdoor adventures, ziplining, farm experiences, family attractions, and local activities.

1. Visit Kangaroo Creek Farm

Kangaroo Creek Farm is one of the most unique and popular attractions in the Okanagan, especially for families.

Important location note: Although commonly associated with Lake Country, Kangaroo Creek Farm is located in Kelowna near the airport (YLW), just minutes from Lake Country.

At Kangaroo Creek Farm you may see:

  • kangaroos and wallabies

  • capybaras

  • emus

  • sugar gliders

  • parrots and other animals


2. Try Ziplining in Oyama

Oyama is home to one of the most exciting adventure attractions in the Okanagan.

Oyama Zipline Adventure Park offers:

3. Explore the Scenic Sip Wine Trail

7. Farm Stands, U-Pick Fruit, and the Farm Gate Trail

Lake Country is known for agriculture. During harvest seasons (spring through fall), there are many locations selling:

  • fresh vegetables

You will see numerous farm stands and U-pick orchards throughout the community.

The District of Lake Country created the Farm Gate Trail to help visitors easily find local farm-sale locations and orchards.

8. Rail Trail Biking or Walking

The Okanagan Rail Trail runs along Kalamalka Lake and offers flat, scenic, family-friendly cycling and walking.
